From the humble streets of Soweto township, Mr Reuben Sekwele has consistently grown Rubbytad Group into an unrivalled player in smart meter technology in South Africa.
Who we are
A wholly black-owned company, established in 1994 by Mr Reuben Sekwele as South Africa ushered in a new democratic dispensation which unlocked mass untapped Black skill and potential to drive a fledgling democratic economy out of gross poverty, inequality and unemployment.
Mr Sekwele ventured into business on his own accord, armed with an invaluable skills base and experience in corporate marketing, project planning and management, administration and procurement.
With the dawn of democracy in South Africa came the beginnings of the Rubbytad Group of Companies, a now established black business entity with a turnover in excess of R380 million across a range of interests which include water and energy smart metering; property development, coal mining, youth skills development in hitherto contemporary skills for a green economy, and funeral services to a culturally sensitive black South African community.
